Media Operations Information

Media Credentials

Florida Citrus Sports works with the media relations directors of the participating schools to review the list of applicants for game credentials. First priority will be given to outlets which regularly cover one of the participating schools or Florida Citrus Sports.

Approved media will be added to an e-mail list with any pertinent updates related to the game.

Credential Policies

  • Submission of credential application does not guarantee approval.
  • Game day media credentials are granted to working media only. For purposes of these criteria, working media shall mean a daily or weekly publication, cable system, radio or television station or network having a legitimate working function and requiring immediate news coverage.
    • Immediate news coverage shall mean that there is a necessity of being at the event to provide first-hand content no later than six days following the event.
  • A working media outlet in the bowl’s immediate geographic area that has staffed Division I college football games on a regular basis and is involved in the dissemination of college football news on a regular basis to audiences from ethnically, socially or culturally diverse backgrounds may be approved for a credential if space is available.
  • Only one application per media agency will be honored. Applications must be submitted by an authorized assignment editor or director.
  • All freelance personnel requests for credentials must come from the agency hiring that individual. No credentials will be issued to freelance writers or photographers without an assignment as well as equipment carriers, film runners, other assistants, children or spouses.
  • Photographers shooting privately to sell images will not be issued credentials.
  • Once approved, credentials are not transferable. In the event an individual who was approved can no longer attend the game, their replacement must submit a new application and the previous media member must notify Florida Citrus Sports of the change.
  • Each application will stand on its own merits for the game in question. Membership in a professional media association does not automatically qualify an agency or individual for credentials. Prior approval for other bowl games, including past Florida Citrus Sports games, does not automatically qualify an agency or individual for credentials.
  • Credentials and parking passes will be issued based on availability and approval by the participating institutions’ sports information directors and Florida Citrus Sports. Parking passes, if approved, will be issued at a ratio of one pass per every two people to apply from an agency.

Media credentials, if approved, can be obtained one of two ways:

  1. Prior to game day at Media Registration in the Media Hotel (Rosen Plaza, 9700 International Drive)
  2. On game day at Media Will Call (South Box Office) starting two hours prior to kickoff and remaining open for one hour after kickoff.

To obtain your media credential you must:

  1. Present a government-issued photo ID.
  2. Sign your name on the credential registration form agreeing to credential terms and conditions

Please Note: For security reasons, credentials will only be issued to the recipients named on the credential application. One person cannot obtain media credentials for any other members of his or her media agency without prior communication (via e-mail) and approval from Florida Citrus Sports.

No credentials will be mailed except those to be distributed by the schools to their local media prior to departure for Orlando.

If approved, your parking pass will be e-mailed to the e-mail address supplied on the attendee’s application. Media are encouraged to utilize the media shuttle from the Rosen Plaza Hotel on gameday. The media shuttle schedule will be posted at the media hotel during bowl week as well as in daily e-mail updates.

Satellite Trucks & News Vans

TV stations planning to bring satellite trucks to the game must indicate so on the credential application. Requests are subject to availability as space is limited.

For news vans wanting ONLY to shoot outside the stadium, please do not request a satellite parking pass or credentials. They are not required unless you are going live from inside the stadium.

Media Entrance

The media entrance on gameday is located at Camping World Stadium’s south end on the east side of the south box office. Will Call will open two hours before kickoff and close one hour after kickoff. All bags entering the stadium will be searched. Please allow extra time for entry into the stadium on gameday. The media entrance opens two hours prior to kickoff.

For media members who need to enter the stadium earlier in the day, credentials gain admittance on gameday starting four hours prior to kickoff through the stadium’s security entrance near Gate D.

Press Box WiFi/Internet

The Tom Mickle Press Box is equipped with high-speed internet through both wireless and hard-wired Ethernet at each seat. Please bring your own cabling if you plan to utilize the Ethernet.

Internet Policy

No online internet service will be allowed “real time” transmission of the game. Only contractual rights-fees paying media will be allowed “real time” transmission during the event. “Real Time” is defined as any online media providing live continual play-by-play coverage of an event.

Frequency Coordination

Florida Citrus Sports games are frequency coordinated events. Once credentialed, media members will be sent information on coordinating with the official in charge of radio frequencies. Information will be provided to all applicable credentialed media. Lack of compliance with this rule will result in the credential recipient being escorted from the stadium.

Photography Regulations

Photo credentials will be issued only to accredited photographers and videographers on assignment and photographers authorized by Florida Citrus Sports. No unaffiliated freelance photographers or journalists without a need to cover a live sporting event will be granted credentials.

Photo credentials grant access to sidelines and the Photo Work Room. Under NCAA rules, photographers are not allowed between the 25-yard lines and must remain outside the restraining lines surrounding the playing field.

TV-Photo vests are required to shoot from the designated sideline photo lanes. Vests must be signed out for and returned to the station located in the Photo Workroom.
